It only inspired a different technique making the background, not the whole comic itself. Although that would have been pretty cool.
As a Tentacled-Creature’s Rights activist, I find this offensive.
The Barkeep must pay pretty well for her to stay around.

Give that all the creatures seem to flee after the first swing, it might appear as if she is stopping the tentacle from retreating.
